This is a photo taken in an attic on a home inspection. This is an example of a structural problem that was created when a supporting roof rafter was
inappropriately cut out to enable the installation of a prefabricated chimney flue for a freestanding fireplace. Since all of our home inspectors are also licensed professional engineers, we were able to detect
this structural defect and design a satisfactory reinforcement to correct the defect.
