Ask your plumber to drain a bucket full of water from your domestic hot water tank drain valve until the water drains clear. This procedure will help to extend the life of your water heater by removing sediment from the bottom of the tank. Sediment collection at the bottom of the tank makes the water heater over work to produce hot water. This procedure is typically required two or three times a year.
